The Kew Half starts on closed roads inside Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, before venturing down the Richmond towpath and riverside to Ham House before turning to finish back at Kew Gardens next to the River Thames.

Some of the fun things you’ll get by taking part include:

free entry into Kew Gardens for you and your supporters (up to two adults and two children plus runner), usually £16 per adult
a great goody bag including post-race snacks and a drink
a fantastic medal
a technical running t-shirt (male and female cut)

How far is the run?

The run is 13.1 miles long.

How much do I have to raise?

There is a registration fee of £25 and we ask for a minimum sponsorship commitment of £300.

Why should I take part in the walk for Cats Protection

Two reasons, both are as important as each other.

Firstly, to make life better for millions of cats across the country. Your generosity and kindness enables our teams to go on caring for cats
Secondly, for yourself! By taking part in this run, it can be a fantastic and fun way to challenge yourself, mix up your day to day, get fit and raise vital donations for cats in need. We like to think of it as the good kind of nervous. You’re getting out of your comfort zone but you’ll be having so much fun doing it!

I’ve not taken part in a running event before. What support will I get?

It can be daunting to take on a fundraising running challenge, but sign up today and you’ll be supported from the start including:

dedicated support from our Events team, ready to answer your questions and share their top tips
a brilliant fundraising pack containing information, tips and sponsorship forms to help you hit your fundraising target
a branded t-shirt to wear with pride during your training and run
access to our Facebook community so you can connect with other cat lovers and exchange ideas, tips and advice

How we're helping cats and kittens in the South East

From our three London-based adoption centres in North London, Mitcham and Harrow, to volunteer-run branches across the region, our teams work tirelessly to make a better life for cats in the South East.

You're able to nominate any local Cats Protection branch or centre to receive 100% of the money you raise from your challenge, directly helping the cats and kittens in your chosen area.
